African Hope Update

03/25/2008
By Charlie Budd

The first three months of this year have been very hot and dry, we are still praying it will rain very soon. This time has also been very busy but most of you have not heard from me for many months. Our website and web email host was hacked, leaving us without email communication. This situation has been corrected through the efforts of Joshua and John, our web presence volunteers. Both have visited Ghana and know the need for email communication. Thanks John and Joshua!

A communication was emailed to all of you on the African Hope newsletter list, just like this update. The email may have been confusing…but if you decide to no longer receive email updates from African Hope we wish to respect your wishes. All you must do to unsubscribe is click on the unsubscribe link on the bottom of this email. If you wish to remain on the list you need do nothing, the African Hope updates will continue to be sent to you as in the past. So much for the business end of the email updates.

The several updates not sent over the previous months have been posted at www.africanhope.com/media/journals.aspx . These updates let you catch up on what God has been doing in Ghana this year. It has been quite a year of blessings, signs, wonders and miracles. One of the most current developments has been the petitioning of three churches asking me to be the Pastor. Two are new churches just formed this year. I have met with two of the churches and have been advising on development, pastoring and program development. Tomorrow I meet with Liberty Community Church and will accept a part-time position as Associate Pastor. This church had an inaugural day with attendance of over 75, last Sunday, one month later it was still over 50 in attendance. Several times a month I will share in sermon, but the majority of the duties will be in development of pastors, programs, and outreach. The congregation will be assisting me with all the outreaches of African Hope in Ghana. It will be a great partnership that will focus on Kingdom Building.

Pastor Joseph from The Holy Ghost Revival Ministries has been meeting with me for a few months. We have discussed church growth programs and programs for raising money needed to operate a church facility. In just a few months they have a basic church facility, attendance has went from 20 to 60 each week, and now a new church is being planted in a nearby village. Next month we will be working together to have a week long Revival in the two areas of this growing church. The plans will be confirmed in a meeting on Thursday.

On Monday I will be meeting with Nana (Chief) Abor Yamoah II of Gomoa Fetteh. For over 10 years there has been a chieftaincy dispute in this area. This area has been without proper leadership and has fallen into ruin. It is one of the reasons God has African Hope ministering in this area. Our prayer is that we can agree to work together on future projects in Gomoa Fetteh. Over the next 3 months African Hope will be ministering in VBS programs, health/medical outreaches, programs with Jr/Sr high schools on Purity, multiple construction projects, a women’s conference, a week long Revival Celebration Service, village ministries and digging another water well. We have much to do and are excited how God keeps opening new doors to accomplish more than we could have ever imagined. Are you coming to Ghana to assist in this ministry?

Keep Praying

Pastor Charlie
