African Hope Update
02/03/2008By Charlie Budd
It is February already...
We are well into 2008 and I have not caught my breath from 2007; this race is a long one!! Much happening this week in Ghana!
Final preparations were made for our incoming visitor, Ken Henderson, the Executive Director of Teen Missions. Ken is coming to survey the ministry of African Hope and prayerfully bring multiple mission teams in 2009. He arrives Tuesday morning and we begin a very busy 10 day visit, which includes;
- Delivering computers to Gomoa Fetteh Jr. High School
- Touring the Village of Hope Orphanage
- Visiting the water well in Gomoa Fetteh
- Visiting many elementary, Jr. and Sr. High Schools where we are ministering
- Traveling to the Northern Region of Ghana
- Ministering to Moslem villages
- Delivering computers/printer to New Life Academy
- Delivering books to Chief Jakpa
- Delivering study materials to the Imam and Teacher in Larabanga
- Speaking in rural churches
- Returning to Accra, the capital city of Ghana
- Speaking at chapel For Ghana Christian College
- Visit Kinder Paradise Orphanage
- Staying with the Budd Family
The travels will extend over 6 regions of Ghana and give Ken the “Big Picture” of ministry in Ghana. Focus will be on the tribes who are practicing traditional African religion and those who are Moslem. Many of the contacts made on this trip will be visited again by incoming mission teams through out this year. It will be a very productive trip and we look forward to the coming harvest.
Kim and the children are enjoying the routine of school, Bible study and church activities in Accra. We did get a bit behind on home school as we had to relocate residence in December, catching up by the time the first mission team comes May 2nd will be challenging.
We are up for the challenge and look forward to victory and harvest in ministry.
Keep Praying
Pastor Charlie
