Operation Bookshelf occurs about every two years, although we are working to increase the frequency of deliveries. Over two shipping containers of computers and books have been sent so far, with over 100,000 books in each container. The last shipment also had over 50 computer systems as well. These are mostly newer (or new) books gathered from all over the place and will be distributed to libraries (that need to be built), schools, universities and colleges. With over 18 million people in Ghana, we do have a ways to go...
Currently, we are not collecting, as the container has just shipped, however we are collecting funds to help cover the shipping and port costs (nearly $8000 USD). Please consider making a donation to cover this cost - it works out to about 25 cents a book. Also - please let us know if you want to be a part of the next shipment!
